The Feast of Corpus Christi reminds us that we are all fed with the Body and Blood of Christ and that we, as the Mystical Body of Christ become living tabernacles to take Jesus to the world. When Pittsburgh artist, Lea Ravotti painted Vessel of The Preborn Jesus, based on the pencil sketch my son James drew as a gift to me, it was our hope to show others that the Blessed Virgin Mary was the First Tabernacle, by showing “The True Bread of Life” in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary is holy, is sanctified! Thus Christ sanctified the womb of all women when He was in the womb of the Most Blessed Virgin for 9 months. It is no wonder then, that Satan hates the womb.
God, the great connector of His Mystical Body brought together, for an unexpected brief encounter, Amberose Courville and Bernadette Conklin at Franciscan University of Steubenville on the Vigil of the Feast of Corpus Christi, June 6th. Several years prior, Bernadette, asked Amberose to paint an image based on Lea Ravotti’s Vessel of the Preborn Jesus that is now being used especially to teach why Mary is Ark of The New Covenant to teens and young adults. Please pray for God to continue to bless the work we do to give Him all glory and praise as we serve Him in deepest humility.
