HAPPY FEAST OF THE VISITATION
We give praise and thanks to God, for one year ago today, the statue of Mary, Ark of The New Covenant was blessed and began many “Visitations” including, her presence in the sanctuary of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Washington, D.C., during the 22nd International Week of Prayer and Fasting. As the statue continues on its Visitations, we are reminded that at Holy Communion we too become living tabernacles of the Lord. The love of God we receive in the Holy Eucharist is a treasure to give to others. It is with a very humble heart that we thank all who have prayed with us during our Novena leading up to the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to Elizabeth. We continue to pray for the Blessed Mother’s intentions, especially for the work being done through Preborn Jesus Ministry.
“Blessed is she who believed” (Lk 1:45). Mary also anticipated, in the mystery of the incarnation, the Church's Eucharistic faith. When, at the Visitation, she bore in her womb the Word made flesh, she became in some way a “tabernacle”–the first “tabernacle” in history–in which the Son of God, still invisible to our human gaze, allowed himself to be adored by Elizabeth, radiating his light as it were through the eyes and the voice of Mary.
